  • Please inform the attending physician or staff members of any known present or past medication allergies.

  • For reference, please bring along any older imaging reports you may have.
  • For the protection of our patients, visitors and staff, please inform the centre if the patient is sick on the day of the appointment. The centre will make the appropriate arrangements.
  • Our centre’s Health Care Vouchers can be used for our Specialist Out-patient Services (with the exception of Cardiology and Urology Out-patient Services) and our Diagnostic Imaging Services, but may not be applied to Endoscopic or Surgical Procedures.
  • Our centre accepts payment via cash, credit card (Master, Visa, EPS, UnionPay), AlipayHK, WeChat Pay, Octopus, or cheque.
  • If you have previously sought medical treatment in a public hospital and have participated in the ‘Public-Private Partnership - Medical Record Sharing Pilot Scheme’, the doctor can access part of your medical records when you consult at our centre.

Preparing for the Procedure:

  • The attending doctor will explain in detail the reasoning, the process, the associated risks and possible complications of the procedure beforehand. The patient will need to sign an informed consent form before the procedure can occur.
  • During the time before and after the procedure, patients may be asked to take medication or pause ongoing medication, depending on each patient’s situation. Compliance is crucial to the safety of the procedure and we ask patients to strictly follow related instructions given by our medical staff.
  • Patients may also be asked to follow dietary instructions, such as fasting or only eating liquid foods. For the sake of patient safety, please adhere to fasting instructions if applicable.
  • On the day of the procedure, please bring the patient’s personal identification documents along with any referral letters, deposit slips, or medical insurance documents.
  • If the patient feels unwell on the day of the appointment (such as if the patient has a fever, a cold, a runny nose or is coughing), the patient is unsuited to undertake the medical procedure and another date will be arranged.
  • Dentures, accessories, metallic objects and contact lenses need to be removed before the procedure. If they are not removeable, please notify your attending nurse on the day of the procedure.
  • If the patient is under 18 years fold, documents related to the procedure will need to be signed by a legal guardian.
  • Smoking on the centre premises is strictly forbidden.

Post procedure follow up:

  • In most cases patients are allowed to eat directly after the procedure has been completed.
  • Some patients (such as those who underwent sedation) will need to be accompanied by an adult when leaving the centre.
  • Some patients (such as those who have undergone anaesthesia) should avoid driving, drinking, making any important decisions, or sign any legal documents.
  • After the procedure, patients are strongly advised to avoid making other plans for the day and to recover at home.
  • Results for any lab tests done will be available within 3 to 4 days.
  • Post operative care instructions will be thoroughly explained by the medical staff. If feelings of discomfort persist longer than expected or if irregular symptoms occur, please do not hesitate to contact your attending doctor.
  • Depending on the type and location of the procedure, the patient may have to take pain management or anti-inflammatory medication prescribed by the doctor.
  • If there are any sutures that need to be removed, suture removal must be completed on the date designated by medical staff.
  • Please care for wounds according to the doctor’s instructions. If the wound has been covered with occlusive dressing (waterproof gauze), the patient will be able to bathe as usual the following day after the surgery. Please keep the area around the occlusive dressing clean and dry after bathing.
  • Certain patients will need to have dietary adjustments after the procedure to avoid constipation or pushing too hard during a bowel movement.
  • Certain patients will need to avoid strenuous exercise or lifting heavy objects within 4 to 6 weeks post operation.
